A Grandmother’s Last Wish
Harry always respected his family, especially his grandmother, who had been a guiding figure in his life. Despite the hardships he faced, he never lost sight of his responsibility to his loved ones. When his grandmother passed away, she left behind a challenge that would push Harry far beyond what he had imagined.
The Will
After her death, Harry and his brother, Walter, were called to meet with the lawyer. Walter was eager to hear about the inheritance, believing it was his due after their grandfather’s passing years before. He always chased money, while Harry didn’t care much for wealth. Harry believed in working hard to build his own future, no matter how modest.
As the lawyer read the will, Walter’s hopes of a large fortune quickly faded. The will simply stated that the house, built by their grandfather, was left to both of them. Harry, who felt a deep connection to the house, was moved by his grandmother’s request to restore it.
The Challenge
Despite Walter’s indifference, Harry decided to keep his grandmother’s wish alive. He didn’t have enough money to renovate the house, but he managed to secure a loan and used his savings to start the work. While digging around the house, Harry discovered a hidden wooden hatch in the yard, leading to a small room beneath the house. Inside, he found a chest with a letter from his grandfather.
The Letter and the Treasure
The letter praised Harry for fulfilling his grandmother’s wishes and revealed a hidden treasure—jewelry and a bank account with $300,000, which would have gone to charity if Harry had not restored the house. Harry chose to donate $100,000 to elderly charities, paying off his debts with the rest.
A New Beginning
With the funds, Harry completed the restoration and moved into a new home with his wife, starting a café business. Harry’s dedication to his family had not only honored his grandmother’s memory but had also created a new, fulfilling chapter in his life.
