Adult film star Julia Ann, known for her career spanning over three decades, recently opened up about her decision to stop filming scenes with male co-stars. At 52, she shared her reasons in an interview on the Unfiltered podcast, hosted by Holly Randall, a prominent figure in the adult film industry.
Julia clarified that the choice wasn’t directly related to her marriage, despite what some people assumed. “Everyone thought it was because I got married,” she said, “but that wasn’t the reason. I used the fact I got married as a stepping stone to shift my career direction.”
She explained that while marriage created a symbolic change, her husband never imposed it as a rule. Instead, the decision stemmed from something much more personal.
“The main reason I stopped doing boy-girl scenes was because I was becoming more insecure as I got older,” Julia admitted. She elaborated, “I don’t like the gym, and I found that during scenes with men, I couldn’t control how my body looked.”
Julia shared that filming with women felt different. “When I’m with a girl, I can position myself, adjust, and feel more confident,” she explained. But with men, the lack of control during scenes made her uncomfortable. “When a guy’s behind you, things just happen, and I could feel it, and I didn’t like it.”
She opened up about how these insecurities grew over time. “As you age, especially after menopause, your body moves differently,” she said. “It’s like a ricochet effect—your body doesn’t move as one unit anymore, and I felt scared seeing those changes in myself.”
Julia admitted that this realization pushed her to take control. “I didn’t want those moments captured forever, knowing they might be used against me as I got older,” she said firmly.
Her decision marks a significant shift in her career, rooted in self-awareness and a desire to feel confident in her choices. Julia continues to embrace her journey with honesty and control over her image.
