Billie Eilish once experienced a major social media backlash, losing 100,000 followers in just an hour.
In 2020, during a “post a picture” challenge on Instagram, the then 18-year-old responded to a fan request by sharing a drawing she was proud of. The image featured snakes along with nude female body illustrations.
“These probably lol I love boobs,” Billie captioned the post.
While the drawing was artistic and not explicit, many followers didn’t take it well. This reaction led to about 100,000 followers unfollowing her in a short span of time.
Billie noticed the drop in followers and responded on her Instagram Stories with humor, saying, “LMFAOOO y’all babies smh.”
This isn’t the first time Billie has been open about her views or personal experiences. Known for being candid, she often shares her thoughts unapologetically.
Recently, during an interview with Rolling Stone, the singer talked about what she considers her “favorite subject matter.” When asked how she likes to unwind, Billie simply said, “Sex.”
She explained that discussing sex openly helps her feel empowered. “I basically talk about sex any time I possibly can. That’s literally my favorite topic,” she admitted.
Billie also shared her personal journey to body positivity. She revealed that she practices self-acceptance by connecting with her body in front of a mirror. “Partly because it’s hot, but it also makes me have such a raw, deep connection to myself,” she said.
The singer emphasized how this practice has helped her build confidence and love her body in ways she hadn’t before. “I’ve learned that looking at myself and feeling pleasure has been an extreme help in loving and accepting myself,” she added.
Billie, who gained fame at just 14 with her debut single “Ocean Eyes,” has always been bold and transparent about her life. Despite occasional backlash, she continues to embrace her individuality and speak openly about topics that matter to her.
