Gemma Atkinson

Gemma Louise Atkinson, born on November 16, 1984, in Bury, Greater Manchester, England, is a multifaceted English influencer, radio presenter, and former actress and glamour model.

Atkinson’s acting career began with her portrayal of Lisa Hunter in the British soap opera “Hollyoaks” from 2001 to 2005. She reprised this role in spin-off series such as “Hollyoaks: After Hours” (2004), “Hollyoaks: Let Loose” (2005), and “Hollyoaks: In the City” (2006).

Transitioning to other television roles, Atkinson played Tamzin Bayle in the medical drama “Casualty” between 2011 and 2012, returning briefly in 2014. She later joined the cast of “Emmerdale” as Carly Hope from 2015 to 2017.

In 2017, Atkinson participated in the fifteenth series of “Strictly Come Dancing,” reaching the final alongside her professional dance partner, Aljaž Škorjanec. Although they did not win, her performance was widely praised.

During her time on “Strictly Come Dancing,” Atkinson met Spanish professional dancer Gorka Márquez. The couple began dating in 2018, announced their engagement in 2021, and have two children together: a daughter named Mia, born on July 4, 2019, and a son named Thiago, born on July 19, 2023.

Beyond acting, Atkinson has had a successful modeling career, appearing in various men’s magazines such as FHM, Maxim, and Loaded. She has also been featured in lingerie and swimwear campaigns.

In 2007, Atkinson participated in the reality TV series “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” where she finished in fifth place.

In the realm of video games, Atkinson lent her voice and likeness to the character Lieutenant Eva McKenna in “Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3” (2008).
