Kim Kardashian ‘pays six figures to have Kanye West’s pianist wake her kids up on Christmas’

Kim Kardashian went all out to make Christmas special for her kids this year. To help make the season even more magical, Kim hired Kanye West’s pianist, Philip Cornish, to wake up her children with Christmas music.

Cornish has been part of Kanye’s Sunday Service team since 2019 and has been playing holiday songs at Kim’s house for years. Kim previously shared that Cornish visits her Calabasas home every morning during December to play piano and wake up the kids – North, 11, Saint, 9, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, 5 – in a peaceful way.

Originally, Kim wasn’t sure about the idea, feeling it wasn’t necessary. But over time, everyone, including Cornish, looked forward to his visits. Philip plays Christmas songs every morning in the living room, and it has become a tradition the family enjoys.

Kanye, who originally brought Philip into the family for the Christmas tradition, thought it would be a great way to add peace and creativity to the kids’ mornings. He and Cornish have been good friends for years, and it was Kanye’s idea to have him come over during the holidays.

Cornish enjoys his visits so much that he would do it for free, though he is paid a lump sum, which is now in the six figures. He also receives gifts and food from the family, treated like royalty during his visits. The commute isn’t bad for Cornish, as he lives not too far from Calabasas.

Kim has been kind to him, and over time, he has grown closer to the kids, even teaching North a few piano keys. It’s become a family tradition that’s beloved by everyone.

Meanwhile, Kim’s Christmas Eve party was more relaxed this year. The gathering was described as “intimate” because of ongoing construction at the house. Despite that, Kim said they would still dress up as usual, keeping their glamorous style even for a smaller celebration.
