Kym Marsh was born on June 13, 1976, in Whiston, Merseyside, England. She grew up in Garswood, near Wigan, and displayed a passion for music from a young age.

Kym first gained national recognition in 2001 as a contestant on the ITV talent show Popstars. Her powerful vocals and stage presence secured her a spot in the newly formed pop group Hear’Say.
