Liam Payne’s Fatal Jump: A Misunderstood Escape Attempt
Liam Payne, who tragically passed away on October 16, is said to have intentionally jumped from his hotel balcony, but not as a suicide attempt. According to new reports, he was trying to escape after being trapped inside his hotel room by staff.
A History of Escaping Locked Rooms
Reports suggest that Liam had a history of using hotel balconies to break free when confined to rooms. This behavior traces back to his time in One Direction, where he reportedly disliked being locked in rooms. Just a month before his death, a bodyguard in Florida had trapped him inside a rental house due to concerns over a potential drug binge. Liam used a garden hose to safely rappel down from the balcony to escape.
The Night of the Incident
On the night of his death, Liam was allegedly resisting hotel staff trying to escort him back to his room at the Casa Sur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires. Surveillance footage shows him acting erratically and being carried by three staff members into the room. According to the police report, Liam was conscious at the time and appeared to resist entering the room.
The Escape Plan
It’s believed that Liam told hotel workers he might use the balcony as an escape. A 911 call from staff confirmed this, as they expressed concern for his safety. Minutes later, Liam was found dead after falling from the third-floor balcony.
Unexpected Items Found
When Liam’s body was found, a bag was found strapped to his shoulder, which wasn’t there when he was carried to his room. A second bag containing pills and whiskey was discovered on the second-floor balcony below, hinting that Liam had planned a safer, shorter drop.
Charges Filed
Three hotel employees have been charged with supplying narcotics, and one faces additional charges for abandonment, which could result in up to 15 years in prison.
