This is a delightful and amusing Officers and little girl scene that reveals typical ideas and jokes of the little child. The communication process initiated formally but lightly when an officer teased her about her bicycle that was lacking reflector and followed by fining her.
Then, when the girl said to the officer ‘That’s a lovely horse you have there…’ it was a wonderful opportunity for her to fire back with a culturally appropriate response. This unexpected turn surprised not only the officer but also teaches about ways in which a child perceives jokes and language. This fun exchange brings laughter into the narration and at the same time serves to bring out the frivolity that is associated with several simple events in life as well as the wit of children who can outdo you at any given one click.
