Marina Smith, an influencer with nearly one million followers, says her friends have excluded her from their annual Christmas celebration. The reason? They’re worried her beauty and single status might “tempt their husbands and boyfriends.”
The 34-year-old model from São Paulo, Brazil, claims one of her friend’s boyfriends tipped her off about the situation. He told her a WhatsApp group had been created to plan the dinner, and she wasn’t included.
Marina said, “He told me that in the chat, my friends discussed their fears that my looks and single status would draw unwanted attention from their partners.” She added, “They think I’ll steal their men.”
This isn’t the first time Marina has faced challenges because of her personal life. Single since the start of 2024, she opened up about her last relationship, which ended after eight months. She explained, “My ex even charged me for a café bill we shared. Splitting costs wasn’t the problem—it just became exhausting.”
Despite her struggles, Marina insists she’s not in a hurry to date. “I’m very selective about the men I get involved with. I’m not a needy woman,” she said.
However, the exclusion from the Christmas dinner has left her disappointed. “Being single already limits my outings with friends since they go out with their partners. But now my beauty is another issue for them!”
Marina also addressed the assumptions about her behavior. “I never made advances toward their partners. I’ve always respected their relationships,” she said, adding that the issue stems from their insecurity, not her actions.
Although hurt by the situation, Marina has decided to spend Christmas on her own. She firmly stated, “Even if they invite me now, I won’t go. I’d feel out of place.”
Marina concluded by saying she dresses and wears makeup to feel good about herself—not to impress others. “Yes, I’m a beautiful woman, but that’s not a reason to leave me out.”
