Neglected by the Circus, the Bengal Tiger Aasha Has a HUGE Transformation

Aasha a bengal tiger is one of the essence of the suffering animals and the torture they have to endure. Her story is a word of advocacy against the use of wild animals in the circus and the possibilities of healing when they start to get what they need.

A Troubling Start
In 2011, Aasha was bought from a traveling circus in which she and a dominant male tiger were confined to a cage since she was born. Aasha was a baby of only nine months old who experience dangerous neglect which resulted in her having various health problems. Chronic tension of the home-triggered stress caused her fur to shed, and she got bacterial skin infections. Unfortunately, the growth of the tiger was arrested and she was weighing as much as a three-month-old tiger.

A New Beginning
When Aasha was finally rescued she was taken and placed under the care of In-sync exotics – a specialized agency with focuses on the rehabilitation of tortured wild cats. In-Sync Exotics, one of the caretakers, Vicky Keahey tried to give Aasha the needed dosage of a particular medication and attend to her everyday requirement.

“I gave her Aasha’s medicine on daily basis and used to sit and play with her for about half an hour in the morning and in the evening.” The procedure involved offering special medical baths to Aasha, which at the beginning was very challenging since she would not want to be bathed. Vicky used to see her self chasing a young tiger around her enclosure in order to feed her and get her to the water.

Finding Companionship
When Aasha was rehabilitated for eight months her caregivers felt that it was time to reintroduce her to other tigers. They put her side with Smuggler, a male tiger who lacked the company of another tiger to be with. From the word go, Smuggler had the hots for Aasha, and was already three times her size!

The staff at In-Sync Exotics paid a lot of attention to their interactions, and once several supervised interactions produced positive results, Aasha and Smuggler were reunited for further development. Because she felt lonely, she was pleased to have a new friend; this friendship formed rather rapidly.

A Bright Future
It takes five years for Aasha and Smuggler to become bonded pair and currently Aasha is healthy adult playful tiger. She has accepted the fact that she loves to swim and is most of the time enjoying her bath in the pool of water in her pen. While she could never survive as a wild elephant anymore thanks to her early years in captivity, Aasha, now, has a proper, safe and fulfilling life away from what she suffered in the circus.

To sum it up, Aasha’s story is an inspiration to many people with such disabilities; such organizations as In-Sync Exotics do great Jobs. It also puts to good use the need to appreciate animals that have undergone through a lot of suffering through confined circumstances and advocating for their change.
