This ex-child star left Hollywood for motherhood and is now a 60-year-old mom of six and proud grandmother

The 1960s TV series Bewitched, which aired from 1964 to 1972, followed the life of Samantha, a witch trying to live as a typical housewife, and her mortal husband, Darrin.

One beloved character, Tabitha, Samantha’s eldest daughter, was played by fraternal twins Diane and Erin Murphy, who alternated in the role. Tabitha’s adorable portrayal of early witchcraft charmed audiences, especially her nose-twitching.

The show transitioned to color during its third season, putting more focus on Tabitha’s character. As the twins grew older, Erin eventually took over the role.

Reflecting on her time on Bewitched, Erin shared fond memories of being on set and forming close relationships, particularly with Elizabeth Montgomery (Samantha) and Agnes Moorehead (Endora). Erin described Agnes as a “grandparent figure” and cherished their bond.

After the show ended, Erin left acting at 13, pursuing a quieter life. She later became a TV host, motivational speaker, and entrepreneur, running businesses like Erin Murphy Knits and Slim Chillers.

Erin married three times and has six sons. She enjoys engaging with fans who recognize her as Tabitha, appreciating the enduring love for the series.

Her twin, Diane, chose a different path, earning degrees in psychology, sociology, and management. Diane works in medical writing and supports women’s shelter services and LGBTQ+ scholarships. Both sisters lead fulfilling lives beyond their shared childhood role.

Erin recently marked Bewitched’s 60th anniversary, reflecting on the show’s lasting impact across generations. She finds joy in the continued appreciation for the magical sitcom that brought Tabitha to life.
