Twenty years after burying my wife, she literally saved me from a stroke

My Wife Vanished After an Accident, but She Found Her Way Back

Taylor, my wife, was in a terrible car accident. When the police called me to the scene, her car and belongings were there, but she was missing. Bloodstains led to the woods, and authorities assumed she had been attacked by animals. Despite extensive searches, including helicopters, Taylor was never found.

Months passed, and her mother urged me to hold a funeral. I reluctantly agreed, but even burying an empty coffin didn’t bring me peace. Every day, I missed her. My life revolved around her, and suddenly, she was gone.

Then one morning, as I sat in a coffee shop, I collapsed. Before losing consciousness, I heard a familiar voice ask, “What color is the sky?” When I woke up in the hospital, I saw Taylor standing there. But she looked at me with confusion and asked, “Are you my husband?”

Piecing Together the Past

Taylor explained that after the accident, a man named Alister found her. She had no memory of her past, and Alister convinced her they were married. They lived quietly, caring for animals in a secluded area. Recently, flashes of her past started returning. When she saw me at the coffee shop, I looked familiar, and she rushed to help me when I collapsed.

I told her about our life and showed her wedding albums, which helped her remember more. Still, Taylor needed time to process everything. We took it slow—meeting for coffee, talking, and rebuilding our connection.

Eventually, we reunited and began our life anew. As for Alister, he was arrested but shared that he had lost his wife three years earlier and believed he was helping Taylor. She chose to forgive him.

Our journey back to each other wasn’t easy, but it taught us the strength of hope and love.
