Actor Christian Oliver and His Two Daughters Die in Plane Crash

Christian Oliver, known for his roles in Speed Racer and The Good German, died alongside his two daughters in a tragic plane crash in the Caribbean, as confirmed by police in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The crash happened on Thursday, west of Petit Nevis island near Bequia, while the small plane was en route to St. Lucia. Authorities reported the single-engine plane experienced issues shortly after takeoff and crashed into the ocean.

“Moments after taking off, the aircraft experienced difficulties and plummeted into the ocean,” investigators shared.

Local divers, fishermen, and coast guard members rushed to the crash site to help. Eventually, military personnel recovered the bodies of all onboard: Oliver, his daughters Madita, 10, and Annik, 12, as well as the pilot and plane owner, Robert Sachs.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Oliver had recently finished filming for his latest movie, Forever Hold Your Peace. The film’s director, Nick Lyon, shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, posting a picture of himself and Oliver taken just days before the crash.

“We talked about making a film together for years, and we finally did it,” Lyon wrote. He reflected on their long collaboration, having worked on five projects together. “Thank you for being a great colleague, actor, and friend,” he added.

Lyon described Oliver as a “brave actor and a beautiful person,” highlighting the loss to the film community.

Oliver’s ex-wife and mother of his daughters released a statement honoring their memory. “The deep bond, infectious laughter, and adventurous spirit shared by Madita and Annik will be profoundly missed in their communities,” she shared.

Our condolences go out to Oliver’s family and loved ones. May they rest in peace.
