Sean “Diddy” Combs will spend this holiday season at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, where he remains in custody ahead of his federal trial on May 5, 2025. The founder of Bad Boy Records was arrested in September by Homeland Security Investigations at a New York City hotel.
He faces federal criminal charges for an alleged sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. Combs has pleaded not guilty to the charges but has been denied bail three times.
Life inside the detention center has become part of Combs’ routine. Sources tell PEOPLE he’s adjusted well, spending time playing card games and basketball with other inmates. He also receives visits from his family during the week. “He’s well-liked inside prison,” a former inmate shared. “People are getting along with him.”
Holiday meals at the detention center will follow the standard prison menu. On Christmas morning, breakfast will include fruit, cereal, breakfast cake, and skim milk, served at 6:00 AM. Christmas Eve breakfast will be the same, but with pastries instead of cake.
Christmas lunch gives inmates a choice of baked Cornish hen or BBQ tofu, with sides like macaroni and cheese, spinach, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls, and dessert.
Christmas dinner will feature two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, potato chips, fruit, and a beverage, which is the same meal as Thanksgiving. Christmas Eve dinner will have turkey roast or navy beans, baked sweet potato, mixed vegetables, and whole wheat bread with margarine.
Inmates will also participate in Christmas games. According to TMZ, there will be Spades and dominoes tournaments, as well as sports competitions, including three-on-three basketball and soccer.
Combs has been denied bail three times. His first denial came after his arrest on September 17. A second judge rejected bail on September 18, citing witness tampering concerns.
A third judge turned down his request on November 27, citing the severity of the charges. Combs’ trial is set for May 2025, and he will remain in the detention center until then. He continues to deny all allegations.
